چکیده

The advancing of glaciers is a manifestation dynamic glacial instability. Glaciers in the Tien Shan region, especially Central Shan, show instability, and have been recently detected. In this study, we used Landsat TM/ETM+/OLI remote sensing images to identify region from 1990 2019 found that 48 advanced. Among them, thirty-four exhibited terminal advances, 14 experienced advances on tributary or trunk. Ten experiencing identified as surging glaciers. These are distributed western part Halik Kungey Mountain Ranges Fergana Mountains Western indicating also one regions where active. From 2019, total 169 times occurred 34 region; highest number July (26 times, respectively). With reference existing literature present surge cycle longer than other at high latitudes Asia, lasting about 35–60 years. Surging may be affected by combination thermal hydrological control. An increase temperature precipitation drives glaciers, but change mechanism still difficult explain based changes single climate variable, such precipitation.

Application of remote sensing data in measuring the area of the Zardkuh glaciers

Glaciers influenced by climatic factors and therefore as an important indicator in the study of climate change are studied. Although morphometric analyzes of glaciers based on the analysis of optical satellite data can provide an opportunity to measure ice outcrops, but the identification and determination of the buried glaciers underneath the glacial debris and, consequently, the determination...

A Remote sensing approach for monitoring debris-covered glaciers in the high altitude Karakoram Himalayas

Debris-covered glaciers, unlike other types of glaciers, are difficult to map using visible and infrared imagery. Moreover, high altitude glaciers are difficult to map using fieldwork data due to the inaccessibility. In this study, supraglacial debris cover is mapped using Landsat TM and ETM+ images acquired from 1990 to 2010 and a digital elevation model (DEM) which is derived from Shuttle Rad...

Low Cost UAV-based Remote Sensing for Autonomous Wildlife Monitoring

In recent years, developments in unmanned aerial vehicles, lightweight on-board computers, and low-cost thermal imaging sensors offer a new opportunity for wildlife monitoring. In contrast with traditional methods now surveying endangered species to obtain population and location has become more cost-effective and least time-consuming. In this paper, a low-cost UAV-based remote sensing platform...

Spatial–Temporal Monitoring of Ecotonal Belt Using Landscape Ecological Indices in the Central Elburz Region: Remote Sensing and GIS Analysis

Iran has mountainous landscapes and half of its surface is occupied by highlands. Moreover, Iran is an arid country and deserts are located at lower altitudes. Most metropolitan areas are positioned in mid-altitudes between mountain and desert. Cities grow upwardly toward the highlands under pressures of urbanization and desertification. Foothill ecotones are a zone between upland mountains and...
